1960年代後半から70年代頃に製造された、アメリカ・Sears（シアーズ）社製のステンカラーコート。 一切の無駄を削ぎ落としたミニマルな設計ながら、落ち着いた生成り色のカラーリングにより、どこか温かみも感じさせる一着です。50年以上前の個体ですが、その簡潔なデザインは極めて現代的な佇まいを見せています。
■ 丸襟と比翼仕立てのデザイン フロントはボタンが隠れる比翼仕立て仕様。襟元には角を落とした丸襟を採用しています。直線的な構成の中に柔らかなディテールを組み込んだ、汎用性の高いデザインです。
■ 綾織りのコットン混紡ボディ 程よい厚みとハリのある、ツイルのコットン混紡素材を使用。タグには「MACHINE WASHABLE」の表記があり、当時のアメリカのデイリーウェアらしい、家庭での手入れが可能な実用性を持っています。裏地は背抜き仕様で、軽やかな着心地となっています。

1960s-70s Sears Balmacaan Coat
A Balmacaan coat produced by Sears, Roebuck and Co. in the late 1960s to 1970s. While the design is a minimal construction with all unnecessary details stripped away, the calm ecru coloring provides a sense of warmth. Despite being over 50 years old, its simple aesthetic maintains a very contemporary atmosphere.
■ Round Collar and Fly Front Design Features a fly front (hidden placket) that conceals the buttons. The collar is a Peter Pan style with rounded corners. It is a versatile design that incorporates soft details within a linear composition.
■ Heavyweight Cotton Blend Body Constructed from a cotton blend twill fabric with substantial weight and tension. The "MACHINE WASHABLE" tag reflects its origins as practical American daily wear of the era. The half-lined back ensures a lightweight feel.
