1990年代初頭に製造されたアメリカ製のロングスリーブ・スウェットシャツ。ネイビー・レッド・ホワイトのトリコロールカラーによる太幅ボーダーのボディに、フロント中央へ「USA」と「ALL AMERICAN SPORTSWEAR」のラバーサークルプリントを配した一着です。ここまで振り切ったアメリカ然としたデザインは、むしろ清々しい。
■ e.b.g.bについて
ブランド名はEvery Boy's Got to Believeの略。アメリカ国内向けのスポーツカジュアルウェアを手がけたメーカーで、1980〜90年代にかけてUSAプリントやスポーツグラフィックを用いたアイテムを多数製造しました。本品のタグには「made in U.S.A.」の表記と星条旗が刻印されており、国内生産へのこだわりが窺えます。
■ デザイン・ディテール
セットインスリーブのクルーネック仕様。袖口はネイビーのリブ、裾はリブを使わずラウンドカット。素材はコットン80%・ポリエステル20%の混紡地で、やや光沢感のある裏毛生地を使用。生地の厚みはスウェットとカットソーの中間。
■ コンディション
全体に自然な色褪せが生じており、フロントプリントには細かなひび割れが見られます。生地は着用と洗濯を経た馴染みがあり、クタッとした落ち感が出ています。
A long-sleeve sweatshirt manufactured in the USA (RN 82907) in the early 1990s. Wide tricolor stripes in navy, red, and white, with a rubber-print circle graphic at the front center featuring bold "USA" lettering and the text "ALL AMERICAN SPORTSWEAR / EBGB." A design this unabashedly American is, at this point, simply refreshing.
■ About e.b.g.b Short for Every Boy's Got to Believe, e.b.g.b was an American sportswear label active through the late 1980s and into the 1990s, known for USA-themed graphics and domestic production. The tag bears a "made in U.S.A." flag emblem alongside the RN 82907 registration number.
■ Design & Details A set-in sleeve crewneck with wide tricolor stripes in navy, red, and white. Navy ribbed cuffs at the sleeves; the hem is finished with a round-cut stitch — no hem rib — sitting somewhere between a sweatshirt and a long-sleeve cut-and-sew in silhouette. Fabric is an 80/20 cotton-polyester fleece with a slight sheen. The fabric weight sits between a sweatshirt and a cut-and-sew.
■ Condition Even fading throughout; fine cracking visible on the front print. The fabric has softened with wear and washing, giving it a relaxed, broken-in drape. Regular vintage condition.
